Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund for supporting our upcoming project with pupils from Inverness Royal Academy, in conjunction with the NHS Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Culduthel Community Woodlands. We will be co-creating the programme with the organisations involved, and most importantly, with the young people taking part. This will help support their ongoing health and wellbeing as well as providing support for the future. More details to come!
We are delighted to announce that we have secured funding to deliver Branching Out programmes again in Nairn and Elgin, with thanks to Moray Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, and the Highland Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. Come celebrate two years of our Nature Walks being delivered in Aberlour, thanks to the indefatigable Isi. This Friday, the 5th May, we will have an extra special walk to celebrate complete with crafting activity, a quiz, fabulous food and more. Branching Out is a programme for adults who use mental health services in Scotland. For each client, the service consists of around three hours of activities per week in a woodland setting, over 12 weeks. It has been developed by the NHS and Forestry Commission (now Scottish Forestry), and is supported by both organisations still. Nature Walks for Wellbeing – 10th Anniversary of a Highland journey to health! On Thursday 17th November 2011 a small band of people gathered at the canal side in Inverness to head out with Stephen Wiseman on what was the first walk aiming to connect people with nature, themselves and each other for mutual benefit.
